CALDERISI, Donato
1923 - 2020
Donato Calderisi, 96 of Montreal Quebec, died in his sleep in the early morning of March 16th, 2020. He was born May 24, 1923 in Minto, New Brunswick to Luigi Calderisi and Maria Vincenza Angelicchio. He would learn men’s tailoring as an apprentice and would work as a tailor until his retirement. Donato served in the Black Watch Royal Highland Regiment during the second world war overseas and at home.
On August 27, 1949, he married his wife Elizabeth Berlettano in Montreal, Quebec. Donato was gifted as an artist and enjoyed many of it’s different forms such as painting, carving, needle-point and Bonsai. He also enjoyed reading and dancing.
He is survived by his dedicated wife of 71 years, Elizabeth Calderisi, along with three children: his two daughters Donna Maria and Jo Ann, and his son Anthony (Caroline) as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives.
A memorial gathering is to take place Saturday June 6th, 2020 at the Coopérative Funéraire de Montréal, from 13h15 to 17h00 at the following address : 2000, rue Cunard, Laval (Québec) H7S 2G5
Donato Calderisi, de Montréal Québec, s’est endormi paisiblement le 16 mars 2020 au matin, à l’âge de 96 ans. Il était né le 24 mai, 1929 à Minto, Nouveau Brunswick, fils de Luigi Calderisi et Maria Vincenza Angelicchio. Il deviendra apprenti tailleur et travaillera comme tailleur jusqu’à sa retraite.
Donato a servi dans le Black Watch Royal Highland Regiment pendant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale en Europe et au Canada.
Le 27 août 1949, il épousait sa femme Elizabeth Berlettano de Montréal, Québec. Donato avait de nombreux talents, entre autres la peinture, la sculpture, le petit-point et le Bonsai. Il aimait aussi la lecture et la danse.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse dévouée, Elizabeth Calderisi, à laquelle il était marié depuis 71 ans, ses deux filles Donna Maria et Jo Ann, et son fils Anthony (Caroline) ainsi que plusieurs nièces, neveux et d’autres membres de sa famille.
