HENNELLY,  Bruce Gordon

1938 - 2022

Surrounded by the love of his wife Josephine and brother Phil (virtually), Bruce Gordon Hennelly passed away peacefully on January 16, 2022 at Montreal Sacre-Coeur Hospital at the age of 83.

He is the husband of Josephine Soobramani, father of Jason (Christine Allman) and Nadine Hennelly. He is the grandfather of Ryan, Ashley and Amanda Hennelly and Winston Hennelly.  Brother of Phil (Teresa Ronzio) and Uncle of Christina Hennelly and Jennifer Hennelly (Jeff Scott). Great Uncle of Lucas DaSilva and James Hennelly-Scott.

He was predeceased by his parents Frank and May Hennelly.

Bruce loved the written and spoken word and so he became a creative advertising executive at Armstrong Cork in Pittsburgh PA and at Bombardier Ski-Doo division. He is also the founder of his own company “Write to the Point” advertising. He enjoyed travelling for business throughout North America and the Caribbean. He listened to all kinds of music; sometimes playing along on his drums (resulting in many closed doors).  He was quite the jack of all trades, fixing many things around the house. Fridays were reserved for his friends at the “Breakfast Club” which he started and where the world’s problems were dissected and solved with humour. His beloved dog Java was his constant companion at home perhaps because of all the delicious treats. In the past few years, his declining health meant he had to reluctantly surrender his independence, but he was lovingly cared for by Josephine and supported by his family and friends.

His memory will be etched on our hearts and he will be greatly missed. RIP Bruce.

Josephine and family

Dear Josephine
We wanted to express our deepest condolences to you and your family during this sad time.
I always thought Bruce was so debonair and charming, his charisma was well noted each time he walked into a room. I also remember how much he loved his beautiful dog Rex from so many years ago, and how proud he was to tell us that Rex was a descendant of TV star dog Rin Tin Tin. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you remember Bruce.
Sincerely Lorraine and Andrew Wesolowski

Family

Saddened to hear of my uncle Bruce’s death, he was loved and will always be remembered. Bruce always had his hair right and walked the walk. He was always so kind to my sister I. Bruce always worked on our family history and collected our family tree. His love of animals was much like mine, he always knew I also understood how wonderful other sentient beings where in our lives. Josephine was present and consistently by Bruce’s side throughout the chapters of life with him. Thank you Jo xoxo
Until we meet again UB xoxo
