CALDERISI, Donato

1923 - 2020

Donato Calderisi, 96 of Montreal, Quebec, died in his sleep in the early morning March 16th, 2020.

Donato was born May 24, 1923 in Minto, New Brunswick to Luigi and Maria Vincenza Angelicchio.

He would learn men’s tailoring as an apprentice and would work as a tailor until his retirement. Donato served in the Black Watch during the second world war overseas and at home.

On August 27, 1949, he married his wife Elizabeth Berlettano in Montreal, Quebec.

Donato was gifted as an artist and enjoyed many of it’s different forms such as sculpting, painting, carving, needle-point and Bonsai. He also enjoyed reading and dancing.

Donato is survived by his dedicated wife of 71 years, Elizabeth Calderisi, along with three children: his two daughters Donna Maria and Jo Ann, his son Anthony and his wife Caroline as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and relatives.

A memorial gathering is to take place at a later date.

Uncle Don was a fabulous uncle and we were so blessed to have him in our lives for so many wonderful years! He was loving, generous, knowledgeable and always fun to spend time with. We have wonderful memories of our Uncle Don and his many beautiful artwork gifts around our home will allow us to always fondly keep his memory alive in our daily lives.

We will miss you sweet Uncle Don. You will forever be in our hearts!
