On January 3, 2023 a grateful family said goodbye to their beloved ‘Papou’, George Kiorpelidis, who passed away peacefully at the age of 80 at his home surrounded by family.
George was a loving and supportive husband of nearly sixty years to his wife Carmen (Green). He is survived by his sisters Thalia Manolakis and Anna Bougadis, his daughter Maria (Carlos Cruz) and sons George Jr. and Alexander (Jennifer Timmons), his grandchildren Matthew, Terry, Michael, Daniel, and Liam, his great grandchildren I’zaiyah and Rozy’anne and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Jimmy and brothers in law George Manolakis and George Bougadis.
George was born in Athens, Greece and arrived in Montreal at the age of 11. He was a furrier by trade and was know by many for his companies Foxy Furs and Indianica. George was an avid outdoorsman and soccer player. Always well respected by his peers as a straight shooter, his reputation in the community was earned through his competitive yet good hearted nature and constant love for his family.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 15h00 at
Coopérative funéraire du Grand Montréal in Laval, at 2000 Cunard street, Laval.
